Start with the goal

Tell us how you want
the car to feel.

As an authorised xHP dealer, we can confirm compatibility, help select the appropriate licensed xHP map and configure supported behaviours around gearbox health, engine output and the way the car is used. Depending on the application and map, xHP can improve shift speed, torque handling, launch behaviour and manual control. If you are unsure which stage, part or package applies, that is exactly what the first conversation is for.

Capability

What we can build into it.

SPEC / 6
01

Authorised installation

Licensed xHP software supplied and installed through an authorised dealer route, with the application confirmed before booking.

02

Faster response

More immediate, positive shifts on supported gearboxes.

03

Torque capacity

Revised limits to complement an engine calibration where suitable.

04

Driver control

Sharper paddle response and configurable manual-mode behaviour.

05

Map selection

The least or most aggressive option is not automatically right; gearbox condition, engine torque and real use decide the route.

06

Matched setup

Settings are considered with engine calibration, servicing, tyres and drivetrain hardware.

Good to know before you book

Clear scope. Helpful answers.

An authorised xHP route

  • Torque Monsta is an authorised xHP dealer. We check the exact BMW VIN, gearbox and software against current xHP support before confirming the booking.
  • Map availability and configurable features vary by application. The choice is made around your vehicle, not an assumed universal stage specification.
  • Tell us about transmission servicing, fault codes, existing ECU or TCU tuning and hardware changes. A calibration is not a repair for a worn or faulty gearbox.

The detail, already open

The complete route, on your terms.

Every guide is expanded by default so the full scope is visible immediately. Compatibility and outcome still depend on the exact vehicle, software, condition and installed parts.

Workshop process

Plenty of explanation. No pressure.

Every vehicle is different, but you should always understand what is being recommended and why.

  1. 01 · Understand

We identify the precise transmission, software version and available xHP maps.

  2. 02 · Specify

The authorised xHP route and supported options are agreed around the engine tune and your priorities.

  3. 03 · Deliver

The calibration is installed, adaptations handled where appropriate and the drivetrain function-checked.

Fit for purpose

Who this route is built for.

The useful question is not simply whether a part or calibration is available. It is whether it supports your car, your driving and the next stage of the build.

IDEAL / USE
  • Supported BMW ZF and DCT applications
  • Drivers wanting improved paddle and manual-mode behaviour
  • BMW builds needing a gearbox map matched to increased torque
CHECK / FIRST
  • Compatibility depends on exact transmission and control-unit software
  • The appropriate licensed xHP map and options are agreed first
  • Existing shift faults or clutch wear require diagnosis before tuning

Before you commit

Performance with the whole car in mind.

Power, sound and appearance are only part of a successful result. Reliability, braking, tyres, heat management, servicing, insurance and road use all deserve a place in the conversation.

Which BMW gearboxes can use xHP?

Supported applications include selected ZF 6-speed, ZF 8-speed, DCT 7-speed and G-Series 8-speed variants. Exact compatibility must be checked from the vehicle and TCU software.

Why is a battery stabiliser used?

Transmission programming is sensitive to voltage interruption. Stabilised power reduces the risk of a failed write while diagnostic checks help identify faults that should be resolved first.

Which xHP stage should I choose?

Choose from the car’s engine output, gearbox health, daily use and desired behaviour. The most aggressive map is not automatically the best fit for a road car.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Torque workshop jobs, including Powerflow fabrication, require a 50% deposit before parts ordering or confirming the work booking. The initial free Powerflow assessment remains free and no-obligation. Ask for the written payment and cancellation terms before paying; statutory rights are unaffected.

How will you keep me updated?

We telephone you with progress updates and provide written confirmation of agreed changes to project cost or scope. Photos and progress updates can be requested. Parts availability, additional findings and agreed milestones affect the programme.

Will this work on my exact vehicle?

Compatibility depends on registration, model year, engine or transmission code, software and current modifications. Send those details and we will confirm the appropriate route before booking.

Do you provide fixed prices?

Straightforward packages can often be quoted in advance. Bespoke builds, fabrication and diagnostic work are estimated after the vehicle and required parts have been properly scoped.

Will modification affect insurance or warranty?

It can. Modifications should be declared to the insurer, and manufacturer or third-party warranty coverage may be affected. We recommend confirming your position before authorising work.

Can I supply my own parts?

Often, subject to inspection, suitability and workshop agreement. We cannot guarantee the quality or compatibility of customer-supplied parts, and additional labour may apply if they do not fit as expected.

What happens before handover?

xHP offers powerful configuration options, but the most aggressive setting is not automatically the best setting for every car. The installed system or calibration is checked, and we explain relevant operation, bedding-in, maintenance or follow-up advice.

Build a better brief

What to include in your enquiry.

The more complete the starting information, the more useful our first recommendation can be. Photos, part numbers and diagnostic reports can be added after the initial contact where helpful.

Vehicle

Registration or VIN, mileage, transmission and exact model or engine variant.

Current setup

Software, engine hardware, exhaust, suspension, wheels, tyres and any recent repair work.

The goal

Power delivery, sound, appearance, road use, track use, towing, economy or a specific problem to resolve.

Constraints

Budget range, preferred timing, comfort requirements, insurance restrictions and future stages.

Fuel and use

Fuel grade, typical journey, annual mileage and whether the vehicle is a daily driver or specialist project.
