Three things to agree before the work

01 · Agree the estimate

We explain the proposed work, parts and labour. Ask about finance before giving permission to proceed.

02 · Review your options

Discuss the 3, 4 and 6-month plans for your invoice. Read the agreement and decide whether the repayment schedule suits your budget.

03 · Confirm before committing

Finance approval is separate from approving the work. Keep your payment schedule and invoice, and discuss any changes to the job with us.

Before you apply

Applicants must be over 18, UK residents and hold a debit card in their own name. Affordability and soft credit checks apply. Missed payments may incur charges and affect your credit rating.

Workshop jobs are invoiced by Vulcan Motors Ltd. This page covers workshop invoices, not purchases from the separate Torque Monsta web shop.

Not sure which option fits?

Tell reception your registration and the work you are considering. We can explain payment options without assuming finance will be approved.

Ask about Payment Assist

The workshop helps. The provider decides.

Finance through Payment Assist, not through us.

Our role: your workshop team

We explain your workshop invoice, discuss the available payment options and help make the initial Payment Assist application when you collect your vehicle. We submit a basic information package containing your basic customer details, invoice and vehicle details. Payment Assist then contacts you to complete the personal and financial information it requires directly. We do not complete, submit or retain that additional personal financial information on your behalf, and we do not lend you the money.

All workshop work is invoiced by Vulcan Motors Ltd, including Torque Monsta workshop jobs. Your workshop invoice and your finance agreement are separate documents covering different responsibilities.

Their role: the finance provider

Finance is arranged through Payment Assist, separately from the workshop. The provider assesses your application and makes the approval or decline decision. We cannot guarantee acceptance, influence that decision or override a refusal.

The lender and full terms are identified in your finance agreement. Read these before accepting: they explain your payments, your obligations and who to contact about the plan.

From estimate to collection

What happens, step by step?

  1. Talk to us before the work starts

Mention Payment Assist when discussing your estimate. We can explain the 3, 4 and 6-month options for eligible invoices so you understand the process before authorising the job. Discussing finance or booking the work does not mean your application has been approved.

  2. We make the initial application on collection

At your collection appointment, reception submits your basic customer, invoice and vehicle details to start the application. Payment Assist then contacts you for the additional personal and financial information it needs. You provide those details directly to Payment Assist, not through the workshop. Allow time for this as part of your handover, rather than assuming a plan is already in place.

  3. Payment Assist assesses the application

Approval is entirely the provider's decision and is subject to its checks and terms. We have no control over approval or denial. Do not rely on an acceptance decision until the provider has confirmed it.

  4. Approval and the first payment

Review and accept the agreement only if you understand it and the payments are affordable. On submission and approval, Payment Assist takes the first payment that day. The exact amount and remaining schedule are shown in your agreement.

  5. Keep your schedule for the remaining payments

Follow the agreed repayment dates and make sure funds are available. Questions about repayments, changes to your circumstances or difficulty paying should be raised with Payment Assist promptly; workshop questions still come to us.

Know before you collect

Helpful answers, without the small-print surprises.

What if my application is declined?

We cannot reverse or overrule the provider's decision. Finance refusal does not cancel the bill for work you have authorised and that has been completed. If finance is declined, the workshop invoice must be settled in full by another accepted payment method before we hand over the vehicle keys. No vehicle keys will be released until payment has been settled in full. Please discuss a fallback before authorising work if payment depends on finance approval.

How much will I pay on the first day?

The amount depends on the approved plan and invoice. Reception can help you review the application, but the provider's agreement is the definitive payment schedule. Do not assume every plan uses the same deposit percentage or that a 6-month option postpones the initial payment.

What should I have ready?

Have your workshop invoice details, the personal information requested for the application, your own eligible debit card and enough money for the initial payment. Provide any further personal or financial information directly to Payment Assist when it contacts you. We do not retain or submit that information for you. Please do not send financial documents, card numbers or security codes to the workshop.

Can you promise approval before I book?

No. We can explain the process and available options, but only the provider can approve finance after assessing an application. An estimate, a booking or a conversation with reception is not an offer of credit.

Who helps if I have a problem?

Contact the workshop about the work, the estimate or the invoice. Contact Payment Assist about the finance decision, repayment collections, your agreement or payment difficulties. We cannot change a finance agreement on the provider's behalf.

How are repayments collected and confirmed?

Payment Assist says payments are collected automatically from the debit card used to set up the plan. Credit cards and prepaid cards are not accepted. Once the plan is live, it sends confirmation by email with the agreement and payment schedule. Contact Payment Assist directly if you need help with repayments.

Does this cover online parts orders too?

No. These arrangements relate to eligible workshop invoices. The separate Torque Monsta web shop has its own checkout and payment arrangements.
